  • Philosophy:

My philosophy of Solution-Based Psychological Services reflects a commitment to a problem-solving approach. I recognize that, broken down to the most basic level, people seek psychological services when they are experiencing a problem that they would like solved. My focus on solutions encompasses both my understanding of what a client is seeking when utilizing psychological services, and how I as a clinician perceive self-determination as the cornerstone of experiencing contentment. With a solution base as my guiding principle, I challenge clients to take a proactive role in exploring potentially successful solutions to improve their level of contentment today and in the future.

I believe children and teenagers often face unique challenges and problems. For some, these challenges stem from a biological or psychological disorder. For others, they simply need help during a difficult time or transition in life. I set goals with children, teenagers, and their families early in treatment so that we find successful solutions and change behavior problems, emotional difficulties, or family conflict as quickly as possible.

    Information on FREE Initial Consultation:

I recognize that when choosing a psychologist - whether for yourself, your family, or your company - it will be important for you to feel the professional you choose will be a "good fit." Finding the right psychological services provider is a unique task, as this person will generally be addressing very personal issues with you, your family, or your employees. It can be daunting to worry that as part of your quest to find the right psychologist to meet your needs, you may perhaps pay for one or more sessions with people who don't turn out to be a good fit. As a professional courtesy, to help make your search for the right psychological services provider easier, I will not charge you for the initial session if you feel that it is not a good fit. In fact, if I am not a good fit for you, I will be happy to talk with you about what you're looking for, and give you the names of other psychologists that fit your description. If you decide that I am a good fit and to use my services, only then will I charge you for the first session. If at the end of the first session you still have other appointments set up in your search for a psychologist, I will not charge you then, and will instead bill for the first session only if you decide that I am a good fit and return to use my services. I hope that this policy makes your search for the right psychological services provider a bit easier.
