Nicole A. Engel, Ph.D.
is a licensed psychologist with a doctorate in Clinical and Health Psychology. She has worked in the mental health field for nearly 24 years.

Nicole's 10-year-old private practice focuses on individual adult psychotherapy. Her clients include men and women, ages 17 to 70, who seek change and want to have greater well-being, fulfillment, and balance in their lives.

Nicole's methods of working with her clients address both the "here and now" and help to heal unresolved past issues. Her approach includes cognitive-behavioral (CBT) and insight-oriented psychotherapy. She works collaboratively with clients; you'll decide the goals and progression of your therapy together.

Nicole is holistically oriented - believing that optimal mental health is achieved by attending to your thoughts and feelings, and your body and spirit. For instance, letting go of an unhealthy lifestyle - such as eating donuts 12 hours a day in front of the TV - addresses overall well-being.

Like most people, you may wonder how to improve your chances of choosing the "right therapist", to find someone who can make a positive impact on your life. Nicole spends time getting to know potential clients, and only when she anticipates a "good fit" between your needs and her expertise, will she agree to schedule an initial session.

Nicole's clients develop a greater sense of perspective and awareness while acquiring skills to cope more effectively with challenges. Emotions become valuable sources of information rather than something to avoid or fight against.

When talking about her work, Nicole says, "When my clients feel better, gain a stronger sense of self and experience being more in control, they create life to be more the way they want. I love what I do because it is gratifying for both my clients and myself!"
